1. Today was a super productive day at work and that felt awesome. Those are the best days.
2. After work I had a list of errands to run. I knew I wouldn't make it through the whole list, but thanks to my lightening speed, I got more of them done than I expected to.
3. One of those errands was running to Lululemon to get a new pair of leggings. New Lulu leggings simply must be on the list.
4. Another one of those errands was stopping at the China Pastry to pick up their Cream Buns. People, if you have not been there to partake in a cream bun, I implore you to get in your car and head directly there. You can thank me later. (I ate two of them, by the way.)
5. For those of you keeping score today, this is what my not-so-balanced diet consisted of: two homemade donuts, one apple, two cream buns, one slice of lemon loaf, and one half of a pumpkin cream muffin. For serious. This is a negative for my not-so-tight tummy, but a positive for my tastebuds.
6. I finished the day with a yoga class. I love going to yoga so much more than I thought I would when I initially signed up. I think it's because for most of my days, I feel like how I felt today -- that I rush around from one thing to another, always late, always harried, always feeling like I'm barely keeping up with whatever I need to get done, if at all. And it's so exhausting. And when I get to yoga, I have nothing to do. I have no where to be. I have no where to rush to. My whole purpose for that hour is just to be present. Just to STOP and breathe and be IN my body and be aware of myself. I cannot express to you how incredible that feels. It had been one week since I last went and I had previously been going twice a week. That one week stretch just felt much too long, which tells me twice a week is perfect for me. It felt good to be back and to sink into my body and be present.
7. When I looked next to me, I saw Pat, who I love more than I can possibly say, and Sarah, my soon-to-be sister-in-law (we are all very impatiently waiting for my brother to lock her in!). And that felt wonderful. I love both of those women so much and yoga with them felt like a gift. That sounds SO corny, but it's a completely accurate description of how I felt. It was bliss.
8. After yoga Pat and I went to Starbucks. Starbucks and the beautiful soul that is Pat Hanley sitting across from me at a table, looking, for the first time in a long time, settled... happy: this was the perfect end to my day.
9. Thank you for reading this far, if you did. For sticking with me through this sappy, corny, long-winded blog, you are my ninth good thing.
P.S. just this once, I am not doing an edit/final read over of this before I post (it is 12:14 a.m., after all and I have to be up at 6:30 tomorrow). If you caught an error, be a dear and let me know. :-)
A.
